RICHARD COST Managing Partner

Mr. Richard Cost is the founder and Managing Partner of West Management Consulting. He has more than 25 years of sales, marketing and business operations experience, and has held executive sales and marketing positions for large Fortune 100 companies, as well as small to medium sized enterprises. His expertise includes sales strategy design, sales compensation plan development, sales planning and operations, sales management and organizational development, major consumer product introductions, direct and indirect channel creation and management, and strategic alliance development.

Richard's diverse skills have been honed through a variety of sales management, leadership, and consulting experiences with world class organizations such as BellSouth Cellular Corporation (USA), Cingular Wireless (USA) , Cable & Wireless (UK) , Alltel (USA), Meteor Mobile Communications (Ireland) and Pantech Corporation (Korea).

In the technology sector, Richard was a key leader and member of the merger team assisting in the formation of Cingular Wireless combining the assets of BellSouth Cellular with those of SBC Wireless into one of the largest wireless companies in North America. During his 10 plus years with BellSouth Cellular, Richard held a variety of executive level positions including heading up the corporation’s Indirect and Strategic Channel program, creating and launching the company’s first Multi-product Offering, and leading the company’s Sales Strategy Development and Compensation Planning effort. Richard also held senior field sales management positions in the business to business and retail channels during his tenure with the company.

Prior to founding West Management, Richard was Vice President of Sales Planning and Development for HomeBanc Corporation a major banking concern in the southeastern United States. In his role with HomeBanc, he created the corporation’s operational sales platforms and designed channel strategies allowing the company to successfully double the size of its sales force and dramatically grow revenues. During Richard’s tenure with HomeBanc, the company was successful in launching its IPO on the NYSE.
